For me, writing has always been about communicating a message, and when it comes to writing about particular social issues, you have a huge amount of power to change, educate and inform minds. Writing as a practice can mobilise people and create a call to action and that's why I write.

I've always enjoyed writing as a hobby. I think it's cathartic and sharing pieces of writing that are related to things I care about gives me the chance to educate others. It also allows others to realise they are not alone and opens discussions that could otherwise be swept under the rug.

For me, there is no more enjoyable task than writing, especially about a topic that interest me. I find it a calming experience to sit with a blank word document on my laptop, and to slowly piece together an article or review, with a satisfying end product.
